
Each of the characteristic changes in the ST segment, T wave and QRS complex that are associated with ischemia and infarction may occur in other situations as well. This is particularly true of the T wave changes since, as discussed earlier, the changes in the sequence of repolarization which underlie the T wave changes are common and occur in a variety of situations other than ischemia/infarction. Some of these are listed here. The T wave changes that occur in association with intracranial hemorrhages, referred to as the CVA pattern (see page 6.3.7), are the most prominent of the neurologically mediated events and are an example of this phenomenon.
