5.4.0 CHANGES IN CALCIUM AND SODIUM (frame 36)

Need to use Firefox or Chrome

Changes in extracellular calcium influence the duration of the action potential plateau and by so doing alter the duration of the ST segment and the QT interval on the electrocardiogram. Lowering extracellular calcium prolongs the action potential plateau and lengthens the ST segment and the QT interval on the electrocardiogram.
