
Many disease states are capable of causing arrhythmias from more than a single mechanism. For instance, the arrhythmias associated with the congenital and acquired long QT syndromes may result from early afterdepolarizations and triggered activity and/or to reentry. The arrhythmias occurring in a variety of other clinical settings, such as those listed here, can also be attributed to enhanced automaticity. triggered activity and/or to re-entry.
