1.3.0 Atrial Depolarization

The wave fronts generated from the individual clusters coalesce to form a single wave front which exits the sinus node in a superior-inferior direction along the crista terminalis. The sequence of depolarization then spreads along the long axis of the atrial fibers, much like ripples in a pond, to excite first the right atrium and then the left atrium.
